An integral part of the School is the Sports Department, as a member of the AGSV/APS sport organisation, we offer a large variety of sporting opportunities to students.

We are seeking applicants for a Head of Tennis. The successful applicant should present as a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, organised leader with a passion for the sport and a demonstrated capacity to lead both coaches and students across all levels.

Working closely with the Director of Sport, the successful applicant will develop a strategic plan to maximise student engagement, develop coaches and improve team results. Tennis is a popular sport in our AGSV/APS Summer Season with a large number of teams and coaches. All teams train on campus at AV½â˵ ######### Yarra Valley School (22 tennis courts on site). Teams are gender based (boys and girls teams).

The successful applicant should have relevant experience and coaching accreditation in Tennis and demonstrated capacity to plan for, implement and maintain high standards of performance and participation.

Prior successful experience in school Tennis programs will be highly regarded.

The role includes:

• Advocacy for highest possible level of student engagement

• The promotion of coaching ‘best practice’ across all coaches

• Development and oversight of training plans for all teams

• Create a plan for the future development and improvement of the sport

Reporting to the Director of Sport, this is a varied and challenging role in a busy area of the School. A detailed job description is available here.

The role has clearly defined working hours and weeks, commencing Term 1 2026.

The Head of Tennis will need to be available for all Year Level training sessions throughout the tennis season (Pre season Mid August - Mid October, In Season Mid October - Mid March). Training sessions for the majority of our teams takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm. (Firsts Boys and Girls Teams currently train before school).

A salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
